A new project..

I thought it was about time that I did something with my wedding pictures (nearly 7 years later!) so I got them reprinted the other day and made a start. Here are the first three layouts...

A productive afternoon.

Well, it only took me two weeks, but I finally managed to think of a title for these pics. Also, please note the lovely machine stitching! And thanks for the paisley shapes Vic - love 'em!

I got a .....

Sewing machine! Yay! It's the little Janome Sew Mini from Argos, and I have been stitching everything that stands still. So every LO I do will probably have some stitching on it for the forseeable future!
I went on the market yesterday to try and find a stall selling material, but couldn't find one. Mind you, I didn't have long to look, and it is a very big market, so maybe I have just missed one. I will have to investigate further when I have a bit more time....
I have got two boxes that I want to alter, and I cant make my mind up what papers to use! I'm torn between the Avenue Crate Papers, or possibly some BG Lily Kate. Or some BG Blush. Hmmmm..........

Another teeny tiny cybercrop...

Although this weeks cybercrop was a bit bigger, most of the team from UKS got together on Skype last night so we could have a good old chinwag while we did some scrapping! I was feeling quite smug cos I actually managed to finish my LO - I did the Pencil Lines sketch for this week.

And I also did another LO for Banana Frog (above), with some more lush Pink Martini paper, Diamonds Forever staps, and my lovely Zig dotty pen!

Some more layouts .....

I got some more lovely stuff from Bev at Banana Frog last week, so I have been having a play with it of course! I have done 2 LO's so far - still got LOADS of stuff left!

A Teeny Weeny Cybercrop....

Well, have spent the evening taking part in a teeny weeny cybercrop with my buddy Victoria, who decided that we should do this weeks Pencil Lines sketch from Elsie Flannigan. So after the initial panic (Yikes! Need photos! and inspiration!) had worn off, this is what I came up with!
"Welcome to the 2007 edition of getting to know your friends. These are my answers, change all the answers so they apply to you, and then send this to a whole bunch of people including the person who sent it to you. The theory is that you will learn a lot of little things about your friends, if you did not know them already."
1. What time did you get up this morning?
5.20am, unfortunately. Or, as a friend of mine put it, "The butt-crack of dawn". And no, I don't normally get up at that sort time, but we had stocktake at work today, so I had to start at 6am.

2. What did you have to eat last night?
Chips and gravy! Hey, I had a hangover and couldn't be bothered to cook....

3. Diamonds or pearls?
Oh, diamonds, definately. I'm dripping in them, dahling.

4. What was the last film you saw at the cinema?
Actually it was "Dick and Jane" at the cinema at Downtown Disney last January! We don't go to the pictures much, as you can tell!

5. What is your favourite TV show?
Current favourites include Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives, CSI (any of them!), and ER.

15. What characteristics do you despise?

Oooh, easy, this one. Orlando, Florida of course!

17. What colour is your bathroom?

29. What is your best childhood memory?
I remember being "A Lonely Little Petunia In An Onion Patch" when I was about 6 or 7, something like that, with my best friend Emma from next door. (It was a show for ballet school!)
In fact, I'll show you a pic. I was soooo cute, what happened?

30. What are the different jobs you have had in your life?
I worked for my Mum when I was at school, then I worked in a pub, then was a relief pub manager, and have had various management positions at various different retailers since then.

Just my ears!
35. Have you ever been to Africa?
No.

36. Have you ever loved someone so much it made you cry?
Well, I probably thought I did at the time! But surely the whole point of loving someone is NOT to make them cry, actually. I can't be doing with all this tortured soul stuff....

My eyes.
65. What do you first notice about a member of the opposite sex?
Hmmm. I don't really know. I can't remember the last time I looked. Their sense of humour probably.
It's my day off today, and I have spent a terribly productive day sat in front of my laptop, still in my pj's, drinking coffee. I did manage to have a shower and get dressed at about 3 o'clock, and then we went to B&Q to get the flooring for the kitchen while the 15% off offer was still on.
So, I am suffering from a severe loss of scrapbooking mojo at the moment. Can't seem to get myself together enough to actually do anything. Need to print some photo's. No inspiration at all. Any ideas, anybody?
Anyway - you have to watch this clip, it is sooooo funny. Make sure you have the sound up or it won't make sense though!

Things that make me happy....part 2....

I was given a gentle (ahem) reminder that I may have missed something off my things that make me happy list last night, so here is the thing that makes me happiest of all.
Nuff said.

Things that make me happy!

So, I thought I would join in with todays blog prompt on UKS - to just have a wander round my house and take pictures of some of the things that make me happy. This is what I came up with...
My new best friend, Tickle Me Elmo TMX. If you want something that makes me smile, this little guy makes me cry laughing! If you haven't seen one in action, go and do a search on YouTube for a video of him - I guarantee it will make you laugh.
Next up - the Nintendo Wii. This makes me smile mainly because I must look such a doofus when I am prancing round the living room pretending to be 10 pin bowling , or playing golf.

Next we have coffee, I like a nice cup of coffee, but not just any old coffee mind, has to be a nice one. The current favourite is Percol Smooth Americano, little bit pricey but well worth it!So, what else. My wedding certificate, signed by Mickey and Minnie, always makes me smile because it reminds me of my favourite place, Walt Disney World in Florida, where we got married on the 29th August 2000.And of course, some scrapping stuff, all those pretty bits of paper and flowers and ribbons always make me happy, even if I am just stroking them!
Then I have my shelf full of Winnie the Poohs to keep me company in my craft room, I always bring one back from my holiday and try to find ones in different outfits each time. So far I have Squirrel Pooh, Eskimo Pooh, Lion Pooh, Bumble Pooh and Safari Pooh!Last, but by no means least - my comfy furry slippers, pure bliss after a day on my feet at work. And the slippers are sat on my bed, another thing that brings me great joy....
Well, I am back from my works trip to Birmingham, it's nice to come home! Here's a few pics from the Masquerade Ball in the evening.......
Me and Maria........ The entertainment for the evening.....G4!
Me in my dress........

Couldn't get any particularly good piccies of G4 as it was dark, obviously, and they were a bit too far away for the flash to be effective. I tried a few with the flash off but kept getting jostled about on the dance floor so I couldn't keep the camera still enough! Never mind!

Saw some of the new stuff we will be getting this season too, some nice bits and pieces....

New Year.....

Well, here we are at the beginning of a new year, it's a good job I didn't make a resolution to blog more or I would have fallen off the wagon with that one already! I haven't made any resolutions, I always think they are a bit pointless - and I'm not very good at sticking to them! I think I would like to change a couple of things this year, look for a new job (NOT in retail!), try and eat a bit more healthily (did I spell that right?), you know, the usual sort of stuff!

Have been dress shopping this week for the big works do coming up next week, it's a masquerade ball! Went to the Trafford Centre one night after work with Claire, but after trying on A LOT of dresses I couldn't find anything I liked, and went home feeling rather fat and frumpy (via McDonalds, which didn't help!). I went shopping in the local town centre on my lunch break the day after, and found a lovely dress in Principles, half price in the sale, so I bought it quickly! Just need to find some shoes now and I will be all set....
Phew! I'm exhausted! Thank goodness Christmas is over with! Here's a few pics.......

Me demonstrating my new remote control for my camera...
Georgina meeting Tickle Me Elmo.....
Three snowmen sat on a fireplace.....
I will be back with something more constructive in a couple of days when normal service is resumed!

Sorry!

I know, I know, it's been rather a long time since I bothered to blog. I've been very busy you know, what with Christmas and everything! I'll be glad when it's all over.

Haven't had time to do ANY scrapbooking over the last 2 weeks or so, but I did make this rather fabulous gingerbread house the other night (no, not from scratch. I'm good, but not that good).

Isn't it lovely? I felt a bit sick afterwards though, I think I ate a bit too much icing while I was making it!
Thought I would share my latest creations for the Banana Frog DT Gallery - here you go... The first two are the Dream Street Cafe Chic papers, and then the last one is Arctic Frog. I've also used the patterned squares stamps on the Dad LO, and the Retro Baubles stamps on the O Christmas Tree one.

Am also very excited as I have reserved a place on Kirstys photography and scrapping day in February - really looking forward to it!
Back at work for a week and as usual the blogging ceases to be quite so regular. For starters being at work means I haven't done anything remotely interesting, and I'm usually far too tired to do anything more exciting than aimlessly surf the internet (well, UKS really, who am I trying to kid!)

It was my day off on Friday and I went over to Blackburn to see my sister and the rest of the family - it was my sisters birthday on Thursday so I was taking her pressie over for her. We went out to Oswaldtwistle Mills for lunch and a bit of a look round Topaz, where I bought some UTEE to use with my new heat gun.

Round to Mum and Dads for the advanced Craft Robo tutorial - but they had pretty much figured most of it out for themselves so that was quite quick. Georgina was there too, according to Mum she had been chattering away before we got there, but was silenced when we walked in! Took me a good hour to get a smile from her! Also saw John and Lesley when they came to pick Georgina up.

Working on Saturday - had our usual Saturday night chinese takeaway and watched Robin Hood, and then I was supposed to be working today too, but had a last minute reprieve, so have managed to get through the huge pile of washing that was threatening to take over the bedroom instead.

It has been Cybercrop weekend on UKS this weekend - all the classes were lovely and I have saved them for completing at a later date. I did manage to get one of them completed within the deadline, Professor Sprouts class, although I did have to cheat slightly with hand drawn stitching as I don't have a sewing machine for the real thing yet! Heres the LO I did.....

The picture was taken at my brothers house when we all went round for lunch the other week. Speaking of which, here's another LO from that very occasion - haven't I been busy!

Grrr - blogger won't let me upload another picture, I'll have to try again later... done it now!

And Victoria, if you happen to read this, hope you are having a fantastic time! Try not to clear the scrapbook shops of Sydney out of all their stock, at least, not in the first week!

Couldn't be bothered to blog yesterday - my feet were killing me and I couldn't think straight for the pain. I bought some new boots last week when I was off, Clarks ones, and mistakenly thought they would be quite comfortable. I wore them on Monday, and they did start to rub a little bit, but I put them on again on Tuesday thinking it was just the newness wearing off, you know, like you do.

I. Was. In. Agony.

All day.

My poor litle tootsies have not forgiven me, even after a day encased in my lovely flat ballerina shoes, and I have slathered on half a tube of arnica cream (Thanks Victoria!) in the hope that it will help. I hate buying new shoes, well, I like BUYING new shoes, just not keen on the WEARING new shoes part of it. Any ideas people? I'm willing to try anything if they will just stop hurting....

So, what else have I done....oh yes, Mums Craft Robo has arrived, and words have been cut out successfully. I'm going over on Friday for the avanced tutorial, cutting out shapes from dingbat fonts you have downloaded off the internet.

I'm eagerly awaiting my copy of Ali Edwards book, I think it came today but I wasn't in, so will have to go and pick it up from the post office tomorrow.

I think thats it, really. How about a random picture? Here you go, Boggy Creek Airboats in Orlando in January....

Back at work...

Just a quickie, cos frankly nothing exciting has happened to me today! Back at work after my week off - thankfully the shop is still standing, they don't seem to have broken anything and nobody has resigned, so it's all good!
Need to start recruitng some Christmas temps soon, I waded through about 150 various CV's and application forms trying to narrow them down today, and it astounds me how so many 16/17 year olds manage to fill up 3 or 4 sides of A4 paper for their CV when all they have done is 2 weeks work experience and a paper round. C'mon people, do you really think I have time to read all that? Thrilling though it may be to read about the fact they they were a prefect, a member of the chess club and they love Harry Potter books, I pretty much just want to make sure they have a basic grasp of English and Maths. I'm also quite fond of the ones that can't be bothered to actually use the spell checker on Microsoft Word - helloo!! Thats what its there for!
I know, I know, I'm horrible, but for goodness sake, my cv barely covers 2 sides of A4 and I have been working since I was 17!
Anyhoo, now I've got that off my chest I will go and read my new copy of Creative Scrapbooking (and yes, I realise I said I wasn't going to buy anymore scrapping magazines, but I am weak) and possibly do some scrapping, but very quietly cos hubby has gone to bed. Shhhhhh......

Switching on the lights

I've just been down to work to pick up a set of keys - and realised I had made the monumental mistake of venturing into the town when they were switching the Christmas Lights on. Happily I missed some of the more entertaining moments of the afternoon, including a talent contest (where I am reliably informed that Whitney Houston and Alicia Keys jobs are probably safe), an appearance from that young chap from X -Factor (you know the one I mean, "I love singing, I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't sing", cried all the time, bless him, what was his name?) and two Corrie peeps who did the actual lighting up, overseen by Mike Toolan from Key 103. I thought I would just quickly pop into M&S to get something for tea and it was like the seventh circle of hell in there so I gave up and stopped at Tesco Express on the way home instead.

We went out for my birthday last night (a week later!), had a few drinks in Bury and then went for a lovely Italian meal. I feel I should warn you though that eating Tiramisu at midnight on top of a few vodka and lemonades does not make for the best nights sleep ever, I was having horrible nightmares all night!

I've done another couple of LO's for the gallery at Banana Frog, just need to email them to Bev then hopefully they will be up there pretty soon.

Back to work tomorrow - I'm hoping that there has been no major catastrophies during the week. I'm sure it'll be fine. Hopefully. Please.

So, random pic for today, let me see what I have got for you......here we are, it's a LO I did for Shimelles "So you think you know me" class. I thought I would have a go at 8.5 x 11 for a change, now I just need to finish the rest of the project!

Reality TV

Now, I'm not a big fan of reality TV, up to the point where I made a conscious decision not to watch anymore of it (Big Brother was stealing FAR TOO MUCH of my time) but you so have to go and see the video of Dean Gaffney on I'm A Celebrity if you haven't already seen it. You can find the video here and don't worry, theres nothing too icky on it. According to Ste the funniest bit was actually Dec's reaction right at the end when he couldn't talk cos he was laughing too much!

My mum has finally ordered herself a Craft Robo - she couldn't decide between that and the Cricut but the promise of 24 hour technical support from me might have swung it! Although the Cricut looks great, I just think it will work out soooo much more expensive in the long run when you have to buy all the cartridges for fonts and shapes. At least with the Robo you can have any font. any size, dingbats, and so on, and it sounds like when they release the new software it will be a lot easier to make your own templates too. Long live the Craft Robo, thats what I say! And for those of you that might be wondering, I have one myself, and I don't really think there is any point waiting till the new version comes out in December because I don't think there is that much difference. Get yourself one now while they are reduced! (By the way, I DON'T WORK FOR GRAPHTEC!)

Did you go and look at my gallery on Banana Frog? In case you missed it, here's the link again. I've just finished another LO, so hopefully that will be up there soon too. Bev has put loads of new stuff on the site too in the last couple of days, there are some gorgoeus new papers and chipboard letters too.

I have purchased the first Christmas present today - but I can't tell you what it is! (Well, my 20 month old niece Georgina might read my blog, you never know!). I'll give you a clue, he's red and laughs a lot......

So, random picture for today, lets have another Florida one, just trying to remind myself that summer will come back eventually....
What a lovely lazy day I had yesterday - I didn't even leave the house! I played on the computer, did some scrapping, tidied my cupboards out, and that was about it really! Made a scrummy homemade lasagne for tea, watched a bit of telly, a bit more scrapping and went to bed.

After that I thought I should probably make a bit more of an effort today, so I got up at 9am (instead of 10 like yesterday!). I took a couple of pics for something for the Banana Frog gallery, then emailed it to Bev, want to see what I have done? Well, go and have a look then! Click here to go to my gallery. What do you think? I've still got a couple more Christmas LO's to do then I will get started on the Dream Street papers.

I was going to go to Scan to get a USB pendrive for my digital piccy frame but they didn't have the one I wanted in stock, so that will have to wait till another time. I went to Hobbycraft to pick up a couple of ink pads, then on to Next where I got a rather nice shirt for my hubby. After that I paid Mr Sainsbury a visit to get something for tea, and called at the Range on the way home, where I treated myself to a heat gun for the bargain price of £12.99 (much cheaper than the £29.99 that Hobbycraft wanted!)

I have just been having an embossing frenzy on scrap bits of paper - it's all very clever!

Thats about it for today, I've just had a nice cheese sandwich and a cup of coffee, might go and have a couple of chocolates from my box of Thorntons in a minute! I will leave you with a picture from our January trip to Florida - only 6 months to go till we return!

A Grand Day Out...

Well, I have just about recovered from my trip out to the craft shop in Blackpool with my Mum and sister. Things started out well when we got to the end of the road in my car (which admittedly is a very small, with very "sporty" suspension, Citroen C2) and my sister was going very green about the gills and pleading with us to go back and take Mums car instead as she was feeling car sick. Of course, this meant I couldn't drive as I wasn't insured, so poor Mum had to do it!

We arrived at the shop after a combination of using my Tom Tom sat nav and the excellent directions that Yvonne from UKS sent me, really easy to get to, literally 5 minutes from the end of the M55. Parked right outside and in we went.

The shop was crammed full of lovely scrapping goodies, and there was a lovely big classroom / crop room attached to the shop too. I won't tell you how much we spent but suffice it to say that we probably made it worth her while to open!

Of course, no trip out with my family is complete without me pretending I don't actually know them - and I was given plenty of opportunity to do that when

  • My sister took a scrapbook down from the top shelf to have a look, replaced it, and managed to knock down EVERY OTHER SCRAPBOOK ON DISPLAY. Hereafter known as the "Domino Effect".

  • My Mum was paying for her stuff at the till, but wanted to round it up to the next £10 to get a loyalty stamp, so went off to find more stuff to buy. So what? I hear you ask. Well, there were two other people waiting to be served behind her, just patiently waiting as my Mum went off to browse again......

I'm sure the lovely lady in the shop (Julie?) breathed a big sigh of relief when we left! Oh and in case you are wondering, the shop in question was Cucumber Cottage Studios in Blackpool. Well worth a trip if you live anywhere near it.

So, a bit more about my digital picture frame for Paula - here's a picture. It has a 7" widescreen display, remote control, and you can put a memory card directly into the side of the frame, or connect it to your camera via USB, or connect a USB pendrive directly to it (as shown in the pic on the top right). It runs off mains power and can either sit in a flat surface or be wall mounted. You can play pictures, short video's, music, or do a slideshow with music and pictures (all very clever!). Paula, I bet your Dad would love one for his holiday pics! Don't ask me how much it was though, it was a present so I don't know. Oh yeah, and the manual is hysterical for mine, obviously translated from chinese by someone who doesn't speak either chinese OR english. Quote - "Dont irradiation for long time under the fierceness sun" er, what? Keep out of direct sunlight, do you think? Or "All jack are mini, please aim at". Nope. No idea at all. And the ENTIRE MANUAL is like that.....

I think thats all for now. I finished a LO last night butI can't show you yet because it is for Banana Frog. Oh, did I mention I got a box full of the most fabby stuff from Beverley at Banana Frog on Tuesday? Luvverley stuff it is, stamps and papers (including the gorgeous, strokeable Dream Street Cafe Chic range. It's a bit wet now where I keep dribbling over it. Joking!).

Oh yes, and we have purchased most of what we needed for our mini bathroom refurbishment, just need some time to actually DO it now!

A week off work

Thank goodness, today is the first day of my weeks holiday, it's just so nice not to have to be worrying about work!

So what have I been up to? Nothing much exciting during last week, just work. Got quite a bit of sickness at the moment so it's quite difficult to get anything done, specially as we are getting busier on the run up to Christmas. We had a power cut in the shop at about 10 to 5 on Saturday afternoon (just as I was geting ready to skive off a bit early to start my hols, grrrr). Turns out it wasn't just the shop but the whole town and quite a large part of the surrounding areas too. We had to evacuate the shopping centre, in the freezing cold and pouring rain, fortunately they allowed us retailers back in before too long! I ended up locking everything up and coming back later when the power came back on to lock up. Not the best start to my holidays, really.

Yesterday was my birthday, don't ask me how old I was. Alright, you twisted my arm, I was 33. I got some lovely presents, a digital picture frame, a tabletop easel that I wanted and some yummy Thorntons chocs from Ste, money from my parents and Ste's mum, and some scrapping stuff from my sis. Hmmm, now I wonder what I will use the money for? Stash, anybody?

And to that end we are taking a trip out to a scrapbooking shop in Blackpool tomorrow - hope it's good, the money will be burning a hole in my pocket! I'll let you know what it's like, and what stash I come home with!

I will leave you with a piccy of a LO I did this morning, Seuss Landing at Islands of Adventure with the Christmas decorations out.....

I'm so excited......

.....and I just can't hide it! Why, you ask? Well, today I became a member of the Design Team for the rather fabulous Banana Frog! Yay me!

I didn't mention it when I entered because I get teribly superstitious about these things and didn't really want to jinx myself, but I'm really happy to have been chosen, it's made my week! Thanks Beverley!

We had to make a LO about ourselves (eeek!), a card and an altered item. I was slightly worried about the card as it's not something I have ever really done, but I was quite pleased with how it turned out. Want to see? Here you go....

I was also really pleased with how my altered item turned out - I've been wanting to try something like that for ages and I'm glad it finally gave me the push to do it. Keep an eye on the Banana Frog website for some fab stuff from the new members of the design team!

So that was my exciting news for the day! In other news (!) we went to my brothers house for Sunday lunch, roast beef with all the trimmings followed by a delicious home made apple tart, in fact my mouth is watering at the thought of it. Yummy. The whole family was there, including my niece and nephew fresh off the flight from Florida (I don't know how they were still awake!) and gorgeous Georgina, looking like a proper little girly with her blonde hair and her sparkly shoes. They were such pretty shoes, in fact, that I had to take a piccy of them specially....

Oh yes, and can I say hello to the fellow members of the papparazi, Tracey and Mum; Steve says he is going to have to buy Georgina some shades before she gets blinded by all the camera flashes.....

A bit of a change...

I thought I would have a bit of a change - got rid of the black and gone for a nice white instead, what do you think? Might even go and design myself a new blog banner while I'm at it.....
Hang on a sec while a blow the dust off my blog - there, that's better! Oh dear, 3 and a bit weeks since I last posted? Must do better......

Of course, the lack of posts could well be explained by the lack of anything to post about, not really done anything exciting in the last couple of weeks!

Have been doing a bit of scrapbooking (of course!), let me see if I can find a LO to show you, hang on a minute

Yet another Portugal LO!

I'm full of a cold at the minute so I can't be bothered doing a long and exciting post (sorry!) so I am just going to take two Night Nurse tablets and get into my bed I think. Day off tomorrow, so I can have a nice lie in too.

Happy Wednesday everybody! Nothing special has happened, it's just that it is my day off, so thats a good start straight away!

Managed to do a leetle bit of scrapping today - here is the fruit of my labours (ooh er missus), yes, it's yet another holiday layout. I'm also half way through another one, maybe I will be able to show you that one tomorrow.

Apart from that it has been a pretty uneventful day, went to Tescos to do a big shop earlier, bought some new towels from Next while we were out, came home, had chicken and stuffing muffins for tea and watched Skycops and A Town Called Eureka, and then here we are again! Oh, and Roz, CSI - Erics sister got arrested for possesion with intent to supply marijuana, H managed to get her off with it, she asked H out for dinner, he said yes...and there were also some other murders, the butler did it (only kidding!)

Well, it's time for me to be off to my bed, I need my sleep if I don't want to be a grumpy knickers again tomorrow!
Good evening my little pumpkins, hope you haven't all been missing me too much? (God knows who I'm talking too, I think my blog readership has reverted back to 1, Hello Mum!)

Well, a very exciting Tuesday today. Oh OK then, not really, pretty average actually! Went to work, didn't manage to get done half of what I wanted to, came home, made tea (lasagne and garlic bread), watched CSI, and now here I am, tapping away on my bloggy.....

Yesterday, pretty much the same, Sunday, no work, had a trip out to the Trafford Centre and went out for tea, and Saturday, worked late cos of the sale, had chinese, watched X Factor. Aah, the exciting life I lead....

My lovely blog prize from Kirsty arrived yesterday, thank you Kirsty, it is lovely and you are a very nice person indeed! And was also nice coming home from work to find a surprise box of stash waiting for me.

I shall leave you with a layout that I did last week with one of my pics from Portugal....

Grrrr! Technology!

Have been faffing about creating a "slide" for 2 days now, and everytime I try to publish it on blogger it wont show up! Bloody thing!

It was my day off today so I have spent the day doing absolutely nothing of any importance, British Gas came to service the boiler this morning (with 25 minutes notice can I just say, so had to run round like a total loonie having a shower and getting dressed while giving the bathroom a quick clean, making the bed, and generally tidying up!) and then I went to the physios this afternoon for my back, which is a lot better than it was thank goodness!

Was thinking about going to an excercise class with some of the girls from work, Body Combat, sort of a kick boxing to music type of thing, but I asked the physio today and she didn't think it was a good idea just yet. Of course, they will all think I am just trying to get out of it when I tell them at work!

I did manage to complete a layout, I'll see if Blogger will let me post it!

I also read some of my book that I have on the go at the moment - "A piece of cake" by Cupcake Brown. I only bought it cos it was half price in WHSmiths, but it's actually really good. I go through books that quickly that I'm not really fussy what I buy, just so long as it is half price I'm happy! Probably should join the library really!

Fingers crossed, there should be a piccy of my LO for you to look at......

Had to show you.....

....this layout cos I am really happy with how it turned out!

Inspired....

Well, I am a very happy girl cos yesterday I was the lucky winner of a compamatition on Kirsty Wisemans blog! Kirsty has been blogging for a year now, and generously offered a giveaway to someone who posted a comment, and yippee!! I won!

Obviously, that got me thinking that perhaps I might make a bit more of an effort with my blog, and here we are....

Oh, and to the lovely ladies who posted comments on here yesterday - I have deleted the post by accident (d'oh!) cos I double posted and deleted the wrong one, but thankyou for coming and blowing the dust off my bloggy!

Today I have been mostly working - then tonight we had chinese takeaway and watched X Factor and Ant and Dec. I was also introduced to a new website today, You Tube (you'll have to google it, I'm not clever enough to work out html linkys at this time of night), and the wonders of Tickle Me Elmo. Seriously, if you have never seen one of these little guys in action, it was so funny I had tears running down my face. I'm sure it would get a bit annoying after a while, but it was deffo very funny for 10 minutes! Lots of other funny video clips on there, you could spend some serious time trawling that site!

And just to finish off, here is the piccy of the beach in Albefuira Old Town that I promised you...
26th August! That was the last time I updated my blog! Thats just laziness, that is! Although in my defence, I have been on holiday for, er, well, a week! (OK, so I have no excuse really!)

We had a lovely week in Albefuira, but it was sooooo hot, I was melting for most of the day! Was nice on the beach at about 4.30 in the afternoon, paddling in the sea, but apart from that I think it was a bit too hot for me, especially as the room didn't have air conditioning. At least in the Florida heat you can guarantee your hotel room will be chilly when you get back after a long day in the parks!
Still, it was just nice to have a week away, but I don't think I would have managed 2 weeks, not enough to do!

Back to work now, we have had a lovely new wooden floor fitted in the shop instead of the grotty old carpet - it looks much brighter. Coming up to the mid season sale in a couple of weeks, it doesn't seem like 5 minutes since the last one!

I will leave you with a nice piccy of the beach at Albefuira Old Town....(or I would do if Blogger would let me upload it! Maybe later...)
I can't imagine that anyone actually reads my blog (except for my mum, and she's on holiday), but just in case you do, and you are wondering where I have been for the last few weeks, here I am, and I haven't been anywhere. Just too lazy to actually type up a blog entry I'm afraid. Sorry about that.

Oh yes, and here's a nice digital layout for your enjoyment....I like Photoshop I do....

Here's my little project from today - an altered canvas with a particularly apt phrase I read on the 2peas website earlier today!
Had a horribly busy week at work, I am soooo sick of the bloomin sale now, and I think I will have to put up with it for another week till I can launch full price stock back out onto the shopfloor. At least we can start picking new uniform this week, I am so sick of the clothes I have at the moment. I also need to make an appointment to get my hair cut cos it is far too long at the minute, and I need to buy an outfit for the flippin product training jolly I have to go on with work (don't they know, I don't do socialising!) So busy week for me then!
Thats it for now - I don't know how you all keep up with my incredibly busy and exciting lifestyle......
Another layout of my beloved in Florida - I love this pic, he thinks he looks like a doofus! Used some Urban Lily paper and loads of stickers, also played around with the pic in photoshop, added a border and other stuff.

This is my first post from my lovely new laptop, much faster than my last one, fabby big widescreen (all the better for viewing UKScrappers on!) and all silver and shiny too!

It was the first day of the sale at work yesterday - I was up at 4am and was absolutely flippin exhausted by the end of the day! Felt like I hadn't slept more than about 6 hours in two nights, thank goodness I can start trying to get back to normal now!

Had quite a productive day today! Spent the morning playing with some new techniques in photoshop, then went down to Tesco and printed out a load of photos. Came back home and did a LO with one of the photos - I'm happy with how it turned out!

See John, I do update my blog! And with a piccy of you no less!

Have finally managed to complete a layout today - it's just a simple one using white cardstock, doodling and a bit of watercolour paint. I'm quite happy with it, simple but effective!

Went and met one of the girls I used to work with for lunch today - we went to the pub and sat outside, it was lovely. The rain has started coming down now though, hopefully it will cool things down a bit.

Must try and get down to some serious scrap booking, there's a couple of design teams I want to apply for, and it feels like ages since I got any LO's done!
Gosh, I really should get round to doing this more often!

Been incredibly warm here today, even though the heavens opened about 3pm accompanied by lots of thunder and lightening which went on till about 7.30pm. I just can't be bothered to do anything when it's this warm, so have mainly been faffing around on the laptop, trying a couple of new things out in Photoshop, surfing the net, eating rubbish and drinking strawberry milkshakes. Of course, now it's 11pm, I feel slightly sick and can't help but think that I have wasted another Sunday. Oh well.

Not had a terribly exciting week either - had to go to my first area meeting (yawn), a day and a half of sitting in a room with 14 other people talking about the end of season sale mostly. All that does for me is instill panic - you really would not believe the preparation that goes into it and frankly I'm a bit worried that I don't really know what I am doing, and I am only going to be able to blag my way through it up to a point. Never mind, I can always become a professional scrapbooker if I get the sack, I just need to find somebody daft enough to pay me for it!

Also went bowling with the other managers - felt like I was back at school when they picked teams and I was picked last. I realise they don't know me but I think that was a bit off to be honest. Still, got my own back when I got a strike with my first bowl and turned round saying "Ha! Won't pick me last next time, will you?!"

Did you watch the match yesterday? I missed most of it cos I was at work, but got home in time to see the extra time and penalties. Such a shame, still there's always Euro 2008!
Well, I am just about returning to the land of the living, I've been off work sick since Thursday, have felt pretty awful for a few days, and now that I am just about getting back on top of it I seem to have passed it on to my poor hubby. I still feel like I could sleep for a week but at least the dizzyness and the blocked up nose and the sore throat have pretty much gone!

Just watched the match - yay us! Thank God we won, it would have been sooooo embarassing to get knocked out straight away!

Pretty!

You like my new pink banner?

I am a bad, bad blogger.......

...it has been 17 days since I last blogged (or so my hubby has just informed me) Bad girl! The trouble is, when your life is as exciting as mine it's hard to find the time to sit down at the PC.....oh OK, I'm joking, I'm just lazy and frankly haven't done anything interesting for ooh, lets see, probably about 17 days!

Managed to do something a bit interesting yesterday though, when I joined 59,999 other people at the City of Manchester Stadium to see Take That. What an amazing show!

Started off with Beverley Knight doing a few numbers (I'm not a big Beverley Knight fan, but she can carry a tune :-)) then the Sugababes, who were great, then the boys came on stage at about 9pm and rocked the stadium for two hours! It was fab, they did all the greatest hits, a brilliant Beatles medley, a fantastic "Tango" version of "It Only Takes A Minute" complete with all the tango moves and loads more. Lulu was there for "Relight My Fire", and despite all the rumours Robbie didn't turn up (probably cos he was at his own gig in Paris). The concert was finished off nicely with "Never Forget" and a firework display.
Only took us an hour (an hour!) to get off the car park, I think they could have organised that a bit better, especially as we paid a tenner for the priveledge of parking there. Finally got in at about 1am after a stop at the chippy on the way home, and then I watched Doctor Who, so it was about 2am before I got to bed, I think thats the latest I've been up in months!

Wasn't Peter Kay fantastic as the alien in Doctor Who? An alien with a Bolton accent no less! Mark Warren was great as Elton too (and quite scrummy)

So just one last thing - Happy Fathers Day Dad! Hope you have had a nice day!

Over a week.....

.......since I last posted! How bad's that? (said in a Peter Kay type voice)

Anyhoo, here we are, it's my day off today so I have finally got time to sit down at the PC. Have done almost no scrapping this week, but I did make a little altered book / mini album on Sunday with some pics that I took of the gang on my last day at work. I bought a cheapy kids chipboard book (99p! Bargain!) covered it with some lovely Basic Grey Hang 10 papers, added photos and a few embellies / stamps / doodling and hey presto! Instant album!

We had a bit of a day out (well, evening!) in Blackpool on Bank Holiday Monday, took the camera and got some great shots of the pleasure beach and the golden mile. On the way home it started to absolutely chuck it down so we parked on a motorway bridge and got a few shots from there, then went the scenic route home and got some lovely landscape pics. I want to have a play with some of them in Photoshop but I will try and remember to post some later.

Back to work as normal on Tuesday, it's half term so the shop is full of kids (small, screaming, adolescent, shoplifting, you name it) can't wait till they go back to school!

Oh yes, nearly forgot, we actually cut the grass last Sunday! I know, astounding isn't it! Cut the grass front and back, we had to go through it with the strimmer first cos the mower was having none of it, cleaned all the UPVC at the front, door, windows, and cleaned the steps. We were joking that the neighbours will think we are putting the house up for sale! Meant to take some before and after shots but sadly we remembered a bit too late. If only the grass would just stop growing now that would be great, but unfortunately I know we will have to do it all again in a couple of weeks. I wonder how much astroturf costs........
