It feels like ages since I scrapbooked - so when Shimelle invited me to be part of this weekends inspiration party I was more than happy to take part. I really enjoyed it too, no saving papers for best, I just went for it!I used papers from Prima and Cherry Arte (and I had so been saving that green CherryArte paper for a special occasion!), some Thickers (who doesn't love Thickers?) and my printer of course!
Shimelle sent me a lovely sheet of printables for my layout - they are available exclusively as part of her new online class Go To Press which starts tomorrow. Get over there and sign up if you haven't already!
I wanted to use these papers because I thought they went so well with the picture of Jamie in his jumparoo, but the stripes were just a bit too much against the picture. Fortunately the paper was double sided and the dark red on the other side made a much better base. I then just used a strip of the striped side of the paper as an accent at the bottom, finishing it off with my scalloped edge punch.
The rectangular "love" and "smile" were from the printables too. I like titles with mixed up fonts and lettering and these went so well with what I wanted to say.
I didn't want a masive amount of journaling - I felt that the title said it all! So I just used the journalling spot from Shimelles printables to record the date and Jamies age and slipped it under the scalloped border.
Well, feel free to have a good nosey around the blog archives while you are here, and I would love you to leave me a comment to say hello! Make sure you head back to shimelle.com for the rest of the party though, there's more inspiration to come!
